SEASONS, An Exploration of Time

SEASONS, An Exploration of Time

Brush painting by Sengai Gibon featuring a square, triangle, and circle, symbolizing unity and elements of sacred geometry.

Sengai Gibon, Japanese monk’s brush painting, described as unity. Japanese read from right to left

Symbols I use in various artworks:

  1. Circles, triangles and squares: Three of the five Platonic solids
are basic building blocks but are also symbols within sacred
geometry and have been studied since ancient times.
  2. Circles/mandalas: a symbol of unity or can connote a moment
    in time.
  3. Bowls: containers for receiving content or offering content.
  4. Kimono: a unisex garment representing humans.
  5. Acanthus leaf: ancient symbol of immortality; resilience.
